Badass Emily PLL: Emily's Growth

The writers of the Pretty Little Liars show have really done wonders with the character Emily. Emily has grown tremendously and that's something you don't see on a lot of other shows when it comes to character development. The show has coined the phrases 'The New Emily' and 'Badass Emily'.

In the beginning and especially in the flashbacks Emily was shy and not as vocal as she is now. Emily is now bigger, bolder, and badder than ever before. She's making snarky comments about Jenna's walking stick and getting a little wild and sexy in the love and relationship department with Maya. Emily isn't taking crap from anyone any longer not even 'A'. She has challenged 'A' one on one in the greenhouse to show that she isn't the weakest link out of the four liars as 'A' seems to think.

I think we can credit 'A' as well as the short lived relationships that she had with Paige and Samara as the stepping stones and motivations that have given her lessons and inspiration to be who she is now which is 'Badass Emily'.

Emily and Maya 2x18: A Kiss Before Lying

Steamy, hot and heavy, touching, emotional and so many other words describe this episode. It was full of Emaya (Emily and Maya) scenes which is something that hasn't happened before.

We start off with Emily and Maya laying on Maya's bed in Maya's house! Emily even had her leg on top of Maya's and they did some major making out. Seriously there was real making out with real kissing and everything, not the subtle closed mouth kissing that happens on most tv shows. Not to mention Maya started to run her hand up Emily's thigh slowly pulling up the hem of Emily's dress.

Maya meets up with Emily and Pam for lunch and there was nothing but a table full of awkwardness. Maya who is still mad at Pam for selling her out made snarky marijuana jokes and comments to try and upset Pam but surprisingly Pam remained calm and cool. Guess Pam has changed for the better. Maybe it's Maya's turn to wave the white flag. 

Over at Maya's house Emily shows up and let's Maya know that she wants her to be her girl and no one else's. Maya invites Emily inside and shows her a underwater paradise that she made in her room as an apology for ruining lunch with Emily and Pam. Maya then makes her feelings for Emily clear and says I love you. Emily says I love you back and they engage in a kiss that leads to the bed...

Emily and Maya PLL: 2x16 Let The Water Hold Me Down

So Maya is back!!! And she has a telephone stalker? Could it be "A"? NOPE.

Maya keeps getting phone calls that seem to annoy her and she seems disturbed by them. Emily has become suspicious and thinks that it may be "A " terrorizing her too.

On a lighter note, Emily and Maya pick way at a little dirty talk over the phone. Hopefully it will get a little more hotter and intense as the show's season goes on.

Standing outside of a club, Emily and Maya are on a date and are waiting in line to get inside to see a band that Maya likes. Maya receives a call and she once again seems disturbed by it. She then tells Emily that she hooked up with someone while she was away at juvie camp and that it's over between them but HE won't take no for an answer. So that's who's been calling her huh.

Guess that means that Maya is bisexual which is all well and good as long as she still has the hots for Emily. Emily looks a little puzzled and bothered but hopefully it will be something that will blow over. Maybe the show will delve more into Maya's personal life throughout the rest season.
